Bookish

    Penguin, the famous publisher, recently released beautiful hardcover editions of classic literature. The magnificent packaging has been created by designer Coralie Bickford-Smith. I love everything about these books, colors, design, authors...everything.
    To tell the truth, I want each and everyone of them. Now.
    That's all.

    Les éditions Penguin ont récemment sorti une collection reliée de classiques de la littérature. Le superbe design des livres a été crée par Coralie Bickford-Smith. J'aime tout, couleurs, motifs, auteurs... tout.

Gustave Moreau - (Guest and Get Out !)

    French painter Gustave Moreau (1826-1898), wondering about death and what would become of this paintings and drawings, transformed his house into a museum at the end of his life. The house itself deserves your attention, but it is easily eclipsed by the work of its former owner.

     You will find below some pictures of my visit there. I really enjoyed the symbolism and amazing imagination displayed, as well as the mix of painting with line drawings, which gives it this unfinished look. The drawings were also wondrous, unfortunately my pictures did not turn out well.

     Do not forget this secret little museum in your Parisian schedule.

     Gustave Moreau (1826-1898), inquiet du devenir de ses œuvres après sa mort, transforma sa maison en musée à la fin de sa vie. Voici quelques photos de ma visite. J'ai énormément apprécié le symbolisme et l'imagination disséminés dans les tableaux, ainsi que ce mélange de peinture et de dessin qui donne cette impression d'inachevé.

    Ses nombreux dessins sont également magnifiques, malheureusement mes photos donnent davantage un aperçu du reflet des vitres que des œuvres derrière.

    Ne manquez pas de visiter ce petit musée magique.

The Color of Darkness

    This wonderful short animation comes from Taiwan. It was created by tree students of the University of the Arts.
    As Mr Charley Parker perfectly puts it, "it is about, among other things, imagination, sensation and the way input from our senses gradually expands our world. It’s also a sublime evocation of a point of view most of us haven’t experienced". Visit his excellent blog, www.linesandcolors.com.
    You may need to watch it twice. Or tree times. Or four ...
